What is the best freeware program to label mp3s/FLAC? I ripped some of my CDs but didnt have the net, now i do but my old program 'CDDB MP3 Tool' doent work

Thanks

Thanks guys. I open the program then change directory to the one i want tagging, then what?

when you've changed the directory so your list of songs appear in the main window, you can edit each field if necessary, once done you highlight what you want to tag (presumably all of them?), then you'll see 4 or so buttons with arrows on them on the top bar, the first one converts the tag to the filename, so what evers in your tag, it will rename the file to that. the second button changes the filename to the tag and so on

you can change how the tag and/or filename is displayed also. I tend to alter any tag settings first, then do the tag to filename option so it renames all my music files uniformly, then I run the filename to tag to update the tag information again (this step probably doesnt need doing but I always do lol)

ive ripped a cd. I:\Mp3s\FLAC\Tiesto - In search of sunrise cd1

Selected the directory, highlighted the files, click the 'tag filename' It then comes up with this '%artist% - %album% - $num(%track%,2) - %title%' I press ok, and nothing happens.

When i rip a cd with Easy CDDA extractor 8.2 (now connected to the net) it does everything automatically i.e.

01. The Specials - Gangsters.flac

in winamp it comes up as The Specials - Gangsters

Why is this proving so difficult?

edit - ive just tried music brainz and it managed to rename the cd aprt from trak 1 and 2?! Knackers to it, ill just re-rip a few of the cds that i did when i didnt have the net
