hi guys

So apparently these days it ok to change mobo and expect win10 to update chipset drivers etc without the hassle of a fresh install. However, if I have 3 drives configured already (1 Os, 1 games, 1 backup), how do you guarantee a new mobo, with completely different UEFI will identify and allocate to same drive letters to each disk?

Only leave the OS drive in when booting and sorting windows then reinstall the other drives, you can always change drive letters afterwards if there's a problem, which there probably won't be once you've moved any CD/DVD drive to a new letter (then added the games/backup drives).

Personally I'd just do a clean install though and restore larger games from backup.

I usually do fresh build, but between having to reinstall 20 pieces of software, gog games, steam games, and origin games...and the lack of backup routine in windows 10 mail, I'm feeling a little lazy. Not out of the question though.
