How to make a USB stick bootable..?

Hello

Rather than keep using a floppy I would like the option of using my USB stick to boot to when flashing my motherboard or running other utilities.

But how do I make the USB stick bootable...?

My Gigabyte P35 DS3 motherboard does support booting from a USB device and I wanted to boot up to the equivalent of a Dos prompt.

I apreciate the value of having a floppy, that is why I still use mine.

However some peoples machines that I need access to do not have a floppy drive fitted - although I do not either if theirs would support USB stick booting..!!!
