How to make an bootable usb

I have a netbook and after weeks of searching I finally found my Windows XP Home Edition CD (Original)

How do I put it on to a usb stick to put on my netbook?

Just a small note, that some netbooks do not support booting from USB, and those that do may not support your particular USB drive.

Newer netbooks, I believe, are less affected.
