How to make an Image of my HD and restore it

All I want to do is make an image of C drive and restore it to another HD. I have used Paragons backup and recovery which dumped the contents of C:\ into a folder of the other hd and would not boot up. I have tried DriveImage 3 times now and the hd wont boot with an error message of 'the boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible' I have tried windows repair but windows just sits with a blue screen and all I can do is move the mouse.

I have had a look at the other hd and the contents looks identical to my other hard drive Any ideas on why my pc wont boot from the restored image? or could you recommend another image software.

Use clonezilla its easy check guides on youtube.

might need to do a fixboot and fixmbr from the recovery console on the other drive. Sounds your mbr is not being copied to the other drive. But i thought a repair would do that.
