As title, im trying to get my macbook to output to my 2407 ONLY when the DVI cable is attached, currently it only seems to let me either mirror or span, I cant seem to see the option for this (force output to one monitor only, i.e. the external one), I maybe being daft! lol but any help is appreciated:)

Close the lid on the macbook and then click the mouse or something to wake it up from sleep, it will then be outputting to the other monitor. Then lift the lid so air can get in. :)

Thats the only way i know..

What? turning the brightness down forces one monitor to display on external cable ? Really ? thats bizarre, lol

No, but my method works. :) Don't see why people have a problem doing this as it takes 10 seconds to close the lid and wake it up from sleep using an external mouse/keyboard.

just turn it on then close the lid - or close the lid then move you mouse or plug somthing into the usb
