Hi,

I've chosen to go as a Mage in this game, it seems quite difficult to make enough currency in a legit way (without bring thrown in jail) any tips???

thanks
Raja

Do it illegaly, just don't get caught. ;)

Also try betting on arena fights and search every dungeon/cave/ruin that you come across :)

find a dungeon, run it, kill everything, quick travel to town, sell up, quick travel back, rinse repeat :) weapons and armour sell for loads. also make sure you haggle!

though its dodgey, theres quite a few items worth 1000g in the castles which can be easily stolen, just make sure you are in sneek mode when you take the item and that no one is facing you and you will be rich in no time :D

Has anyone found any talking mudcrabs or creeper characters like in Morrowind yet? They turned into my main source of income in the last game.

I tend to make most of my money the honest way: through selling on the fallen equipment of my enemies. I appreciate that as a mage, however, you might not be able to carry so much. Still, dungeon/oblivion gate crawls can be quite rewarding.

Both the NPCS from morrowind you refer to have the 5000g budget on buying your goods iirc. Oblivion works this differently by one of the tradeskills allowing you to "invest" in a shop and raising its budget to buy your goods buy 500g. Its in the manual if you wish to know more but the short answer to your question is:

No - they reworked it lol

I really dont see the need for gold anyway, I got a few thousand now, but I cant really see much to buy. Most decent weapons and armour you pick up, I dont think i've bought anything much. Magic stuff on venders is really expensive so that's pointless.

Horses (yes they do die) 1000g-5000g
Houses
Fixing equipment (expensive with good armor)
New spells
Training
Uber armor/weapons
Potions

It soon adds up.

I must have made 5000g in the arena (im champion).

I stored a lot of my items which was worth a lot in a chest in Fighters Guild Building but when i later went back to take some items out it seems they are no longer there which is a bad thing due to them being some really nice stuff like armors with magic elements etc.. so i've lost around 5000 or more worth of stuff

Whats the best way of storing stuff for later uses with out it disappearing ?

Rob all the shops. In the market district. Then all the houses in the temple district. Assuming you know the first fence you can sell all the gear to. Easy money.

i've visited a couple of dungeons and got some decent weapons and amour to sell.
Visited that monk dude and delivered the stone from the Emporer but havent come across any shops yet?

Stolen a horse and am now on my way to track down his son :D
