How to make my pipes shiney!?

So... I picked up my new car yesterday, a 2002 BMW 320i SE, facelift with the 2.2 straight six.

It's all pretty nice, but the twin tailpipes haven't been cleaned for ages so instead of being nice and shiney, they are pretty much black. I rubbed one a tony bit with a pan scourer yesterday and saw some shineyness coming through.

Just wondering, what's the best way of bringing them up nicely??

Cheers,

Mal

Try autosol.

Mine was really bad when i got it, so i used a scouring pad and autosol, brought it up a treat.

Autosol is excellent. I couldn't find my cheap metal polish the other day, so went and bought some from Halfords, surprised how much better it was, dead easy to get a nice finish.

Drink Brasso, it will make your pipes nice and shiny.

In all seriousness though, Cillit Bang. gets surface rust, patination and crap off metal a treat.
