How to migrate account

I have a macbook pro retina mid 2012 (10,1)

I upgraded the SSD to 768gb, and installed 10.10 but how would I migrate my user account from the old SSD

I guess I would need some sort of PCI Express external caddy then connect via USB or Thunderbolt, can you recommend any?

I think I would put it back in boot from recovery partition and clone it (Restore) in Disk Utility to an external hard disk. Then put the new one back in and use Apple Migration Assistant to pull apps, accounts and settings over to the new one.

Any cheap external caddy, boot from the external drive, run SuperDuper! to clone the external drive to the internal drive and job's a good 'un. Very simple, very easy and you end up with an identical system to how it was before except you have the bigger drive.
