Hey guys, i'm playing a computer game and i'd like to access the music so i can listen to it outside of the game.

Now the bulk of the game is within a folder called "Assets" and every file in there has a custom file extension i.e. .xyz .

I've tried opening it with Assimpview, but that doesn't seem to work.

Anyone have any ideas of how i may do this?

Thanks.

As mentioned, depends on the game/engine/format. Best thing is to just get on google and search for extractors and file tools for the engine or file format. As an example there is one called GCFScape for extracting assets from Source engine games.
