I built a PC with emulation in mind (see sig for specs). Now that Street Figter V is out I played it with no components overlocked. Generally it plays well on medium settings but it doesnt look as smooth as other videos Ive seen and sometimes theres like a random fps freeze or skipping.

So how do I overclock GFX card as this is the first time PC gaming, cant find any online tutorials. Also Ive seen a screenshot where you can add a program to the graphics card and change settings around to make it run better but where is that?

I always use MSI afterburner to overclock my graphics cards (don't worry that it's MSI; it can do any brand of AMD/Nvidia cards).

Download it and try pushing the core clock speed up in small steps.
I don't tend to overclock the memory as much on modern cards as it makes less difference than the core speed.

I just overclocked my 960 with gpu tweak,,got a stable overclock from 1291mhz to 1410mhz without even touching the voltage :) its given me 4fps more than I started with so I'm well happy with that,,i used the heaven benchmark and first boosted the clock to +50,then increased it by 20 each time until I got slight artifacts (and they were very slight) then backed it off 10 and now perfect,,i am going to try it with a game in mo as only used the benchmark so far so not sure if in real gaming use it will be even better,,i hope so lol

Does enabling or disabling help towards smoother gameplay?

what do you mean mate?

I just checked mine again and I have a 3fps boost on heaven benchmark,,just tried skyrim and everything is much smoother now and theres a defo increase in performance,,its pretty easy to do mate and worth it,,just take your time and after EVERY adjustment run the benchmark and look closely for artifacts/glitches,,if you get any back it off by 10 on the clock

this should help,,its for the gtx 960 but exactly the same for 950 as you should have gpu tweak I think,,just go as far as you want/can without touching the voltage etc just the boost clock,,that's what I did

ok I had to back off the overclock a bit lol everything seemed great but 1hr into gaming it crashed so I ran another benchmark and there was some artifacting I missed before as it was only slight,,backed it off by 30 and now seems smooth again,,just take your time if you overclock and look hard to see if theres any artifacts on the benchmark like black flashing dots(what I had) screen tears or graphical glitches,,if there is back off the boost a bit,,im learning myself and its all new to me as well :)

the problem with the 950s is mostly that they are already boosting themselves to like 1400mhz + so there is not that much more headroom left mostly

So by how much do I raise the core clock? This is at default.

maybe try raising it by 10 or 20 then run a benchmark to see how it is performing,,then just repeat the process,it takes time but its better to take your time and get it right :)
