I have just been reading about people overclocking the Atom n270 and i want to try this and they said use SetFSB but i am confused as to what i have to do from here......so can someone on here help? or recommend me another way of doing it?

I doubt you would get much of a boost tbh, it really probably isnt worth it, its not like your going to be gaming on an atom anyway, why bother? :P

Well i wanted to do it because atm movies etc stutter and its said that if you overclock to around 2ghz then they become a lot better?
Bash247-Have you tried it before?
Off topic:Are these temps ok?
CPU Diode:73
CPU:54

I haven't tried myself but if your movies are jitter and playback quality is bad then I suggest opening the netbook and add more ram. Adding the ram makes a huge difference and would be better than overclocking the CPU.

Ok
I can get 2gb ram for around 40 or get a Atom 330 motherboard (desktop) with 512mb for £50..which would be best?
Will the 330 still struggle due to lack of ram?

I would Personally go with the Ram but you need to make sure you know how to open the netbook. Can you check under your netbook for a model number for example AOA-150. This will determine which acer netbook you got mate because when i type the model number which is in your sig it doesn't come up with anything.

I wouldn't if I were you. It's unlikely the Netbook has sufficient cooling to handle any sort of Overclock. Stick more RAM in if you want a quick speed boost ;)

hmm your movies should not be stuttering. Mine don't... might be something else causing the issue?

My netbook: Samsung NC10, Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows XP Home, Black

I do use VLC and external hdd.....i have just tried another movie and it was fine so maybe the movie itself was just playing up..............

Well i am running fine on 1gb tbh but i was just wondering about overclocking because i have seen some people hitting over 2ghz so i was just enquiring....

about the SetFSB - check out Notebookreview.com
i am a member there, have been for several years and i am sure they have a massive thread about it
it might help toget some info from there as there are lots of members

its probably a driver issue or something, try different media player, and maybe add more ram, and maybe try not using HD movies or something.

I said earlier i got everything working ;) and i am thinking of getting some more ram, Off topic will i better off getting a better cpu or more ram to play Football Manager 2010 more smoothly?
