I think you are referring to mice with variable DPI settings?

Don't get Logitech though, they've locked down the multipliers.

Used to have to do this when Razer balls up their drivers in the early days

i heard that with logitech you can flash an alternate firmware to the mouse which has unlocked multipliers - apparanty it rivals the Sidewinder Twin Frozr II and is only a fraction of the price

don't overclock it too much though.It might leave from the screen and appear on the wall.
