hi i got this system and want to overclock it to about 3 mhz

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
Asus Rampage Formula Intel X48
G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-8500C5
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

the cpu-z is showing me this.

i have been in bios and don't know what to do there.

in bios where it says AI overclock tuner, select manual
Then raise your FSB, this OC's the CPU but will also OC the RAM so you'll then have to lower the DRAM frequency (each time you raise the FSB), just keep it at or below your RAMs rated speed. You should be able to get more than 3ghz out of that chip too btw
Anandtech did a good review of the board here which will help you with more of the settings if you like
Just remember that unless you turn off speedstep, C1E, EIST etc the speed in CPU-z will be lower than your OC'd speed, they reduce it down to save power when it doesnt need to be running at full tilt

is this ok and will my computer be stable? also how do you turn off speedstep, C1E, EIST in bios?

The FSB strap can be used to unlink your memory if you wanted to, if you start having strange (427) FSB speeds some people prefer to unlink so as to keep your RAM at normal rated speeds but if your FSB freq stays at 400 no real need
those settings are in one of the pages/tabs in bios further along, cant remember which sry but have a look youll see them, just select it and choose disabled
have you run prime95 to test if it is stable? that'll tell you, if it fails up youre CPU voltage a bit, if it passes you may as well leave CPU voltage on auto, save complicating things

if you have literally no idea what you're doing, i suggest that you read the guides at the top of this forum ;)
