Hi all,

I'm trying to develop a low cost way to keep in touch with my brother who lives in Australia. I have sky talk but he unfortunately does not have a lan line and is reluctant to purchase one due to the heavy cost involved in installing the extra line in his flat.

He currently uses a satellite broadband service so hopefully we can set up a Skype phone and stay in touch that way. What i need to know however is whether it would be possible to somehow patch my cell so that i could somehow call my skype phone (via my O2 cell phone) and then be redirected to my brother :)

The problem with satellite broadband is the terrible latency which is bad for applications such as this.

In answer to your question, do you mean you want to dial the skype number or actually run skype on your mobile?

Thanks guys for the responses. I've had a another think about this and apparently apple will be adding background services to the next iphone firmware update. Presumably i will be able to use IM + and thus skype to accomplish what i need.
