How to pause in POST?

Hi there,

I get a message on one of my POST screens on bootup regarding the SATA Controller (some sort of error) but the screen is literally only there for a few seconds. I've tried hitting pause/break but it doesn't halt.

How can I find out what is wrong?

Press the pause button (or try the home key).

Taking a photograph (or maybe a video) usually works when everything else fails.
