So i think i need a new KB. ive been using a microsoyt bluetooth curve 6000 something one. hile i love the curve to it its basically a laptop thinkness one and its a bit meh.

so i think i want to move to real keyboard but since there is no where i know of where you can actually see one in the flesh and touch other than ** Don't mention competitors **, how do you guys pick one? do you just order one and hope you like it, not trying anything else? do you order 5 and keep the one you like?

You're pretty limited to be honest, any local PC shops nearby you could visit?

Failing that you're left looking at online reviews or ordering a few and DSR'ing the ones you don't want.

I always use the shop with purple shirts to try things out then go buy online :)
Couple of times they have let me try mech keyboards not on display.

Also the electronic shop found at retail sites sell a few gaming keyboards they also let you try too.

yeah the purple place is an option, i think its about the only option in town but its not exactly a wide selection.

so how did all you guys pick your keyboards? just picked online and hoped fro the best?

Read up on different switches then read reviews of keyboards.
Went for a Ducky Shine 3 Brown switch on the end. Took some getting used to after using my crappy Logitech K120 at work but very happy with it.
Probably won't have to buy a new one for years now

how are the brown switches for gaming?

Depends on the user really (both gaming and typing). I find them fine but I have nothing to compare them too. I put O rings in them too to reduce the clacking as I'm fairly heavy fingered.

Apart from the blue switch, what are you looking for ?

RGB back lights ? 60% size ? 10 keyless ? removable usb cable ?

more ore less yes to all of them, actually id rather the arrow and numbers were on the left but i realise thats not happeneing.

removable cable would def be a plus, lights too would be wanted. idealy black keys with black writing with a dimmable lighting. aslo keys must be rearangeable so i can move the keys about for puting in dvorak layout.

mostly though what i really want is one that i like the feel of typing on which there is no way to know without trying

Ducky ftw tbh I won't buy any other keyboard manufacturer now. Its like carrying a lethalweapon with you. So solid I reacon you could run cars over them with out any damage...

I can't look at ducky keyboards without it having the stench of reddit all over it. The fact that everyone there is berserk for the damned things makes me run away that much harder. lol

I was lucky that a mate of mine got a cherry red switch keyboard before I got one myself. All keys are swappable so easy to change they layout.

Look on website for some that you like and check Youtube, If you are after 60% look at ducky. Maybe you should look at some retail shops to try some out ?
