how to play ANY video format in WMP10?

i've tried few codec packs but its only play video in classic player, i'd rather to use WMP10 so how?

To begin with, what formats are you having trouble with?

For the most part, codec packs suck.

WMP should play .mpg files right out of the box, but if you're referring to .avi (DivX/Xvid) just search for the Xvid codec and FFDshow. I only installed those two and I can play any video file that comes my way.

at the moment, got quicktime/realplayer alternative and DIVX installed, quicktime and realplayer only play in classic player which i'd rather to use WMP10

the rest work fine in WMP10

i think i've used FFDshow once ages ago, its heavy on CPU usage if i remember right

Just shift and right click then go to open with then pick Wmp10, and pick the always option.

Works for me.

have you tried the gordian knot codec pack? that seems to cover most things.

ffdshow is by far the best codec pack, and it works with WMP10

just make sure you get a current version, the first link goes to sourceforge and they seem to have stopped updating it there
