How to play Dota2

Hey guys basically just need some help how to play dota 2, ive never played a game like it before so its quite confusing. Any tips on the best noob class/hero??? how to go about winning/playing good and how come everyone i fight kicks my ass even if i get the first shots in.

just need some basic tips/tricks so i can get going so atleast i know how to play the game.

Create a Lobby, and play against bots for your first games. Play support heroes... people that basically don't have a lot of responsibility in All Pick games (the main type of game you'll be playing). Heroes like Lich, Dazzle, Windrunner, Lion, Ancient Apparition. They're ranged heroes, meaning you can attack from afar... and heroes like Windrunner have decent escape mechanisms, meaning you can escape fights pretty easily. I'd recommend Windrunner as a first hero, personally. She's ginger and you'll find her on the Radiant side of Intelligence heroes.

Play with some bots, or in a co-op bot match like I recommended earlier... and just learn the hero, learn some of the items. And generally get a gist/feel of the game. You won't be in over your head, because you're playing with bots... and it's a great place to learn.

Take it easy. Weigh up a fight before you engage. If you are underleveled, back off and stick with team-mates. If the fight is a 50/50 gamble, back off. Only commit if you are sure you will win.

Read up on at least a few heroes, so you know what to look out for, or as Jahu said, play with bots for a while.

Just as an additional tip while playing bot games, be sure to start out playing games in the 'safe lane'. For Radiant (the green nice side of the map) your safe lane is at the bottom of the map, for Dire (the darker dead side) it is the top lane.

Try to get a feel for last hitting (where you are the last thing to hit a minion or creep before it dies) the ability to last hit is one of the most fundamental skills in the entire game.

guys i just need some help, when i buy an item how do i move it from my stash to inventory, sometimes i just click grab all and that works but sometimes i just want to grab the one thing. I normally try dragging and dropping but it doesnt work, very frustrating as its probably something minor.

When you're in the fountain it will automatically go into your invent. If you're outside the base it goes into your stash. Dragging and dropping only works if you're inside the fountain.

Go watch dotacinema and purgegamers youtube vids. They put up very good guides and info videos. dotacinema have guides specifically for new players.
