How to power PC fans via a plug socket?

It's quite simple to take a internal 3 1/2" or 5 1/4" fan controller and hook it up to a power supply with only a soldering iron, insulation tape and a few minutes.

You could get an old or cheap PSU, stick a paper clip into where the green wire goes, and also into where one of the black wires go next to that, then when you plug the PSU in and turn it on it will power whatever's plugged in. You'll want to look into it a bit more before you do it, there are some good YouTube videos *

* I don't take any responsibility for deaths caused by this method.

Alternatively, if you don't want to use a PSU, there are a few AC/DC molex adapters on ebay which is what the item you've linked to includes.

You can buy 12v power supplies designed for powering LED strips that output 12v at 5A or more which'll look like a laptop power brick. Much easier than using an ATX power supply. I'm sure OcUK used to do one but I can't find it now.
