How to prepare for a big drinking session?

Anyway I had a good go at a bottle Glenlivet eighteen year old single malt whisky, after a blue cheese and cracker session and I felt nothing remotely close to intoxicated.

a place i used to work at once put on a port and stilton evening for us, should have been great fun but oh boy was i a mess. dark days.

i always have food and 2 pints of water/cordial before. pint of water before bed too usually helps with the hangover if you remember.

if you start feeling ****ed to early try and get some food down you, crisp etc.

the key is not to be the first person to embarass yourself, bide your time long enough and it wont be you that gets remembered :p

I usually put some water next to my bed and make sure I have had a couple of decent meals that day. Nothing spoils a night out like being hungry or even worse you try to ignore it and get mega wasted.

I generally have a couple of cocktails and a dance in my boxers aswell, but yeah.

and I hate you idiots that only ever go out once a year at XMas you saddos. That's why it is so god damn busy! :(

In preparation to a night out where i know i will be drinking a fair amount i find a good curry beforehand goes down a treat. If you're getting drunk too quick switch to water for a little bit then resume.

I'm a bit of a lightweight ( well a lot actually!) Normally I make sure I have pasta and a glass of milk before going out but on the one occasion i managed to drink quite a bit and not have a hangover my day went like this

Weetabix for breakfast, pasta salad for lunch, pasta meal for dinner. Tea/other drinks during the day.
And I guess sipping my drinks slowly helped as well.

I didn't think it all through though like I normally do (hence I forgot the glass of milk) it wasn't until I was discussing the night with friends that I realised how much I'd drank and can only put it down to the fact that I ate a lot of pasta lol

so try not to overthink it! :)

I just drink anything without caring whether it's pure spirits, beers or cocktails. Preparing yourself is just dumb, the whole point of drinking is to drink to a comfortable level. If your comfort level is totally wasted, then so be it. What is there to prepare? Its not a war you know.

A Spanish chap I know also swears by this. Keep meaning to try it but I fear I may gag on the oil!

HAHA

Perhaps thats the point, if you can hold it then your body must be ok. However if you chug then your not going to last the night! :D

Going ZzZz's now, BIIIIG breakfast / tea / water.

Soon as I get there I'm gonna order some chips or nanchos before it kicks in and the night runs away.

If I'm sick on Xmas again I'm gonna be ******. 3 years ago I completely missed xmas, I only managed to get up around 10pm for some cereal, no one was happy with me that day. I shall not repeat it.

Take a time out and go on cokes for an hour when you're feeling the pace.
The 'hardcore' mob will not even notice and power on through with their alcoholic bravado.
Come late evening you'll still be standing, and they'll be drooling/puking.

All i know is 9 weeks of the booze due to injuries. I'm now a light weight, struggle to drink past about 5 and finding quite a few drinks less than tasty.

preparing for a few drinks? lol

30 yrs old too deary me

OI! I'm no drinker, not anymore....you've seen how many pills I take.

I did all my drinking / throwing up as a youngster its just I've been out the game for years and I just know my mate will rip me in-front of his mates at my lack of drinking prowess. Social peer pressure at its finest. :p

Ho-ho-ho.

Tell me about it

I used to be able to drink lots and lots of beer, like the whole night of beer.

Then couldn't drink alcohol for more than 6 months due to an infection and meds, now my body refuses to let me have more than 2 pints ... but spirits are still accepted just fine
