How to pronounce id

It is 'id' as in Squid.

Though when I was younger I always said ID.

However the correct way is 'id'.

It's meant to be id but that sounds odd to me so i stick to i d. Not that I can remember the last time I needed to actually say it to anyone anyway.
 
We had this discussion only a few months ago, let alone a few years ago...

The correct way to pronounce it has been posted. I personally still say "I D" though.
