I did a similar sort of thing in my Integra once, flat out in fourth changing to fifth and managed to get third. I nearly headbutted the windscreen! My Apexi power FC showed a peak RPM of 10250

Benefit = Fun, cheap in comparison to running another car as a dedicated track car, which will be fairly expensive.

Risk = You blow your car up or crash, depends on your abilities/luck/judgment.
