How to properly remove filler from wall?

I filled some holes in on my bedroom wall a few months ago and didn't get around to sorting them out till today.

I've tried to sand the filler down to get it nice and level with the wall, but sandpaper seems to be doing absolutely nothing to it.

What do I need to do?

Use less filler next time and get better sand paper

Get a block to use with the sand paper means you can get much more pressure on it!

2lb of Semtex should shift it.

Sand harder, wrap the sandpaper round a block and go to town on it. Use some lower grit sandpaper if you aren't already.

If you cant smooth it down, the best thing to do is take the filler and smooth the rest of the wall to the same depth as the protruding hole.

What filler did you actually use, you should be able to just sand it down ?

Best stuff for sanding filler is sanding mesh. Use with some water in a bucket to clear it if it gets clogged up. It really takes a lot of the effort out of it and does a really good job.

Indeed, filler sands easily i cannot think of anything that can be sanded easier.
