How to protect files with winrar ?

hi there,

might sound stupid, i'm using winrar latest version and i saw a different number of files i've downloaded from the net and to extract them i had to enter a password. i was wondering how can i do the same with my files in encrypting the archive and password them.

When you are in the process of creating a compressed file, you can specify a password on one of the option tabs (think its under 'Advanced').
