i tried installing my surround sound headset the other week, but its buggered my USB drivers - whenever i boot up my PC i have to unplug all my USB devices or i get a blue screen (thanks medusa).

anyway, my C:/ just has windows, and i have separate HDDs with Steam, Videos, Music etc...

if i re-install windows on my C:/, how do i get it to link back with my steam installation on a separate drive without loosing all my data? for example Steam on a clean install Steam wont be in my 'programmes and features' on the control panel.

just wanted to check about this before i go ahead and do it.

the other thing is that i have to unplug one of my HDDs to plug in my DVD drive because i have ran out of SATA ports (i don't use my DVD drive often) - when i plug my HDD back in after re-installing windows it wont want to format my HDD will it?

just a bit paranoid before i go ahead and do this!

I have my steam folder on D:\Steam every time I reformat all i do it download the steam installer and instead of pointing it to C:\ program files etc I just point it to where my steam folder is. Just need to log in and it's always there.

With the hard drive, nope it should be fine, I have to do this sometimes and it's all fine.
