Hi all,

My son would like to start making lets play videos on his Xbox and putting them onto youtube. He's been using my iphone to make videos by pointing it at the TV, but this is rubbish lol

I was wondering what's the best way for him to do this more professionally?

I found this:

http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/data_hdpvr2-gaming.html

It looks good, but he doesn't have a PC to record the footage to, so I was wondering if there is one that records to a USB HDD? or to SD card possibly? I have a PC which I will edit the video's on, but it's upstairs and the Xbox isn't.

I don't want him to record himself (In the interests of anonimity, I don't want people to be able to see him in the videos) but I would like people to be able to hear his voice on the recordings. He uses a bluetooth headset to talk to his friends at the moment, so I don't know if we can make use of that? Or if I would need to buy him a proper mic?

I hope this makes sense!

Would be nice to buy everything he needs to have him setup for Xmas :)

Cheers,

G

I use a Hauppauge Rocket but when you record to a USB drive there is a drop in video quality about half the normal bit rate
