How to recycle broken hardware for free?

I have several components that do not work anymore, so I can't sell them off. A broken monitor, a broken case, old cables or broken ones, etc...

How do I safely dispose of these, hopefully send them through a recycling process?

There are some providers you can find on Google, but they don't collect small amounts nationwide for free.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Take it to the dump. There will be an e-waste container

Just find your local tip and take it there. Can probably put the case in scrap metal
