My x800xt is really loud when playing games and then is nice and quite when idle. :o

I would like to get this down to about 80% of what it is at the moment during games to reduce the noise. Temps are pritty good with the stock cooler (40ish idle mornings, 45deg idle at night) so i dont think lowering the fan 20% will make that much difference if any.

How do i go about doing this? Do i have to create profiles for different games etc?

ATi Tool does all the stuff you said, profiles, variable temperature fan speeds plus you can do some overclocking whilst you're at it :D
