how to remote shut down my pc

hi

does anyone know of any softwear that will monitor my cpu temp and shut my pc down if the temp rises

The BIOS should do it natively as long as it's not el cheapo cheap. Have a poke around the settings.

The BIOS will have some kind of thermal regulation built in - normally you wouldn't have to manually enable it.

You could always use CoreTemp to do the same job. The beauty being that not only can you set it to shutdown when it reaches a certain temp, you can also have it run a script [say to kill any processes burning the CPU].
