I cleaned polished/waxed my car, but sometime after I spotted lots of tiny speckles by the rear door. The tiny chips were not noticible before but I think the polish/wax has dried in them and made it stand out.

Any idea how I can sort this out, it will drive me mad otherwise :(

If polishing won't shift the little speckles then maybe something like a bit of peanut butter or similar may work. Sounds daft I know but I've read of people using it to get polish off plain grained plastic items like washer jets etc.

Google may give you better idea if you should use smooth or crunchy ;)

If in doubt try a tiny bit first somewhere that's not too obvious

Isopropyl cut with a bit of water and a cotton bud.
The peanut butter trick sometimes works on plastic trim, but is likely to just cause an oily mess on your paintwork.

Thanks guys, I'm going to try the Isopropyl method coupled with the toothpick tomorow if I can find somewhere that sells Isopropyl.

MJD, I see you're in Llanelli, any good detailers in that part of the world? it's only 55 miles from here and I'm having problems finding any near me.

Sorry for not picking this up sooner.
The only true detailers I know of and would be confident recommending are Peter at Eclipse in Swansea (http://www.eclipse-auto-valet.co.uk/) and Ti22 (www.ti22.co.uk) in Newport. I have seen a few vans out and about in the area offering mobile detailing services, but I couldn't say whether these are any good.
