How to remove private data from win messenger + live messenger?

Selling my laptop, so I need to remove stored conversations and any other private data. How do I do this?

Best thing is to do a secure wipe, reformat, reinstall.

If that isn't possible then I guess you should start by creating a new vanilla profile and delete your original one. This may get messy if you have been logging in as admin.

There is more to it but I'm going to my lunch I'm sure someone will be able to expand on this.

documents-recieved files....Should have a folder with your email adress on...double click, history-then delete all your chat logs.

works for me anyway, so hopefully for you too.

Nope, nothing there. Maybe I just don't have any conversations saved or something.

And I can't format - it's a netbook (no optical drive). And I don't have time anyway.

best bet then....on your msn contacts page...go to tools-options-messages and see if the "automatically keep a history of my conversations" box is checked or unchecked...if its unchecked then you wont have any saved messages.....if its checked....under that box, see where the location of your saved messages are....then delete.
