how to remove ROCK hard tim?

did NOT work. it worked on newly applied soft runny stuff, but so does a dry cloth, so its not really needed.

Must be an epoxy of some sort, only way you're getting that off is in pieces. Thats not standard on the board though, I replaced my old A8N southbridge HS with different TIM and had no such trouble.
