I bought a c-max the other day and the arm rest is broken. It would seem someone has put too much weight on it and showered off the metal from the base. I’ve ordered a generic centre console arm rest from eBay instead so looking to remove this lump of metal.

It’s connected inside the seat itself, I can’t see any screws etc. I don’t mind if I am left with a hole (maybe I can get some kind of cover?) but I’d like to remove the metal preferably without having to cut it out. Any ideas?

If you google this question there are answers out there. It may depend on the year model, but there’s supposed to be a c clip at the base of that shaft that’s accessible if you push the cloth in.
