Use the paste that comes with the arctic cooler. its arctic mx2 which is better than as5. as far as cleaning the old stuff of your cpu. i use cd cleaning fluid which contains isopropyl alcohol. or nail polish remover works as well

Would it not nacker the stuff if I put nail polish remover on it?

If this is a brand new cpu id reccomend just using the paste that comes preapplied on the base of the arctic cooler. for a cpu that has been in use before youll have to clean it. a dab of nail polish remover on a soft cloth will be fine to wipe of old thermal paste:)

I only have water and nail polish in the house - and want to build it now! :D

Shall I just go with nail polish? :)
Bengaboy i was reading this post of yours here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17891045&highlight=username_Bengaboy

the cpu you bought of the mm will probably have been cleaned already. my advice is to just put your cpu in and stick the arctic freezer cooler on it. the paste supplied on the arctic freezer is very good stuff. some would say better than as5. after that your good to go:) and good luck with the rest of your build.
