got a old beast here, and was trying to stick win7 on, but it failed, decided i will keep xp, but every time the pc reboots it tries to load the failed win7, you have to act quick and choose "previous windows version" on boot.

anyone know where i can remove all trace of win7?>

Boot from winXP disk reformat the drive and reinstall windows Job done

Yes there are other ways but by the sound of it there is still a chunk of win7 left behind. (i.e. the boot loader for one!)

windows xp is working fine, i don't really wanna format it, as it has loads off stuff on, its just really old.

must be something on the disc, that is telling it to look for windows7 files

right click my computer > properties > advanced system settings > start up and recovery settings

you could have just selected which os loads from there
