How to rename my idisk?

Just a little annoyance I have with my iDisk on the Desktop.

It's craig.turner1 - but I dont like that!

Anyway I can force a change on it? or remove the name beneath it?

I've contacted Apple about this.

Short answer: It's not possible.
Long answer: It will be named "iDisk" if you sync it to your Mac.

gonna drag this from the depths... EVH you say it will be named iDisk if you sync it? could you tell me how to do this since i have a local copy that syncs and its still called by my username...

on a side note, lots of people are saying you can't rename it (if its a remote copy and not local) but if you want you can just hide the real item from the desktop and use an alias which you can rename?

It always used to be called iDisk when I sync'd a local copy, although that may have changed since the rollout of MobileMe.

I can't see why an alias wouldn't work. It's actually a clever idea.

That said, I've hidden all drives from the desktop now.. there's just no need (for me).

Yep I did an alias

Make an alias of the idisk, then turn OFF idisk in SP.

Double click the new alias on the desktop, it'll ask you for your username & password, remember in keychain and your done!

Bizarre, mine's always just called itself iDisk without me even doing anything!
