I have finally got a motherboard I can use with the Dell Perc 6/i (pcie) but on boot it shows its bios screen and scans but only finds the controller. It flashes up the 'press CTRL + C to enter configuration utility' but doing this just has it noting it is initilizing with this profile but no profile is listed. The machine then starts to load Linux (installed on the boot drive not on the Perc 6/i).

On searching google I find mention of clearing the profiles by hitting CTRL + R on boot but I don't get that option.

Suggestions please

Perc 6 cards have batteries don't they? Can't you just disconnect it?

Sorry it's been a while since I had one in front of me :x

Hi Spoon,

I believe they can but this one does not.

Even if it had a jumper to clear settings that would be ok but I can't seem to get in to it at all and have spent the last 3 hours trying to get megaraid installed on Fedora 14 so I can access it that way (but have so far failed with dependency errors).

Ok, well found out why I get the ctrl-c rather than the ctrl-r, it is a perc 6/ir so only does raid 0 or 1 which is fine for what I am going touse it for.

Still cannot access the menus though.
