basically, i faffed about with the syncing (had an offline version, then got rid, then put it on again, yada yada yada) and the result is that now when looking at my idisk about half the folders are aliases to a previous offline sync (called myusername-1)...

this bothered me (i know it shouldn't but hey) so i set it to not have an offline copy, deleted the old one, then restarted (to try and reset things) then upon re-creating the offline idisk the aliases are all still in place...

anyone know how i can fully reset the idisk? doesn't matter if i loose anything on it just wanted it all new a fresh and synced properly with its own folders not aliases...

any ideas?

  • Delete local copy (turn off sync)
  • Mount "real" iDisk
  • Backup anything you want to keep
  • Select all folders and press Apple + backspace
  • Confirm you want to erase everything, and click OK

After a while Finder will tell you that you cannot delete certain folders, however, all the folders that aren't a standard / locked directory will be gone. If it doesn't delete the folders you added, manually select the items to delete etc.

A fresh iDisk. Now sync a local copy and leave it alone :p

cheers EVH, did all that, but when i got to the end and re-synced:

some folders still point to the old location...

any ideas?
