Hi everyone i have alienware 15 however circumstances have changed and now need to sell, I got from outlet a month ago and need to sell I have deleted the games but its logged into my windows account so how exactly do I either log out or restore to when purchased ?

didn't want to do a system restore incase deleted all the alienware side of things

and how do I change the warranty over

any help appreciated
Thanks Dean

I imagine the Alienware based systems should be pretty similar to Dell in terms of software. If memory serves right, reboot the laptop and straight away keep pressing F8 - eventually this should boot the laptop into a recovery mode which will then enable you to restore the laptop back to factory default. This will restore the laptop to exactly how it came out of the factory.

Liam.

That didn't seem to work if I press f8 when re booting it brings up 2 options setup and boot options when click f12 boot options says

Uefi Windows boot manager
On-board nic ipv4
On-board nic ipv6

Other options
Bios setup
Diagnostics
Change boot mode setting
Bios flash update

Any ideas
Thanks Dean

It's ok I had no photos etching on laptop so ended up deleting my account and logging into local account so none of my pics etc should be on there that popped up when was logged into my Google account

You think that will be ok ?

I am a bit worried as when go into hdd etc still has files when go into users says Dean then public, I deleted user Dean but then deleted all the folders with pictures etc even though was nothing in them and my computer sign etc all missing so restored the laptop and now just signed out should they not be able to get any of my information at all up ? When I restored it it asked for my password from my account even though I was on local account when restored it

Thanks Dean

No it won’t. You’re not running basic Windows 10 but a Dell OEM version. The drivers and software are all integrated in on the recovery partition for exactly this scenario.

There might also be software called “AlienRespawn” on your laptop which will do the same job. Have a look to see.

Edit - Ignore this. It only came with Windows 7/8 and was phased out for 10.

Brilliant advice thanks very much for that took hours for it to do and once done I signed in on local account, had to put my name and email on one bit for alienate but sure it will all swap over eventually but thanks very much mate

Might have to put my details in for product registration aswel but gues will swap over when u semll5

Glad you got it sorted. I guess you need to speak to Dell about transferring the warranty or something next?

yes all reset and all alienware software still on :) didn't realise it was there sort of version of windows so all integrated. I need to register the product on the support assist so might register it but then once sell it sort out how to transfer it etc.

quick question after the warranty runs out does the support assist still work so checking for drivers and updates and run hardware tests etc ?

like I say thanks again

Hmm, if you are really going to sell it and the product isn't yet registered, I would leave it for the new owner to do. It sounds like you don't really want to give it up. :p No way you can keep it?

Depends haha not giving it away but if can get back what I played I will sell, trouble is I purchased it for total war games but not a huge fan of warhammer got bored quite quick and not a fan of the magic etc.

A few games I am exited about is they is billions and age of empires iv and definitive edition but the games I like seem to be few and far between. Hate having expensive laptop sitting and not getting used.when you think next historical total war will be out or any great graphical games ?

Also I am worried as loads of games seem to be moving to consoles even prison architect etc so only rts games and that are few and far between like I say

Anyway does support assist stay with laptop forever and supply updates etc
Thanks Dean

I'm not sure about games moving from PC to console. It seems everything new announced these days is getting a PC version (except maybe for the quirky PS4 Japanese things).

As for the support assist, I don't really know anything about that.

Not all games I must admit, love army building/city build games like stronghold and red alert etc but not many new ones developed with decent graphics and not a fan of future ones but will see.

When you think next total war will be out but not warhammer, and age of empires iv?

You seen they are billions ? Looks good

Dunno about Total War, it's a series I have never been keen on. I suspect AoE IV is about a year away yet. They'll probably get the remasters of 1-3 out the door first.

you wil be happy to know decided to keep the laptop even if games come out slowly hopefully this beast will last a few good years, they are billions and age of empires and ancient cities among a few also total war arena looks good and got into the closed beta.

thanks for all the help and advice mate
