Anybody got a clue how to actually use the Dell website for requesting an RMA - seems to be a bit of a shambles??

I have a faulty Dell 24in S2409W monitor but it seems that to contact Dell either by mail or phone you have to have a Service Tag?? But on further reading only some of the larger monitors had this service tag - so does this monitor have a service tag and if so where??

thanks
rikky.

Just ring them and explain you have an issue with a Dell monitor, they'll put you through to the right department. Then you only need to give them the serial number on the back of the unit.

From my experience you definitely want to call them up for monitor issues. You will need the serial number on the back of your monitor, but also the "Dell Works Order Number" which is on a sticker on the original dell cardboard box the monitor came in. You should also have the company name of the reseller you bought it from (eg. if you bought from OCUK, you tell them "Esnet Ltd.").

Well, I'm having dell come tomorrow to swap my Faulty u2711B for a replacement. It was from overclockers. The problem I had here though, was that when I rang OCuk up, they transfered me to Dell (india it was i tell ya) and they didn't know were i was "coming from" since i didn't have it from Dell direct. they asked me for a 9 digit number, which i hadn't got, only the service tag and seriel number. So they couldn't help me (this was last week).

Rang O/C up today to explain this, so O/C gave me an 8 digit number that i was to use once i got through to dell. The number (thanks O/C) did the job, as they didn't even ask me for my service tag which i wrote down (its very cold and dark behind a dell.....) He then asked me what was wrong with it, and if i tried it on another system (i did - a laptop). And after a few more words, he took my address/phone, and told me to box it up as a replacement Monitor will be "with you tomorrow" 9-5 pm

..I await, but "fairly" confident.;)
