I have got a hacked PS3 so it runs homebrew software and now want to return it to a standard non hacked version, so I can get download content for the wizards ed of ni no kuni.

does anyone know how to do this or do you know a website that will tell me how to do it, or even if it is possible?

my googlefu is weak, so I ask the good people of OCUK.

Come on dude, I know your new but play by the rules.

Come on apply some common sense, hes asking to return it to stock not asking about modded firmwares to run homebrew is he.

I'd understand if he was asking how to install CFW but since he's trying to install OFW I think a bit of leeway should apply.

you would be better off selling your current console for a premium and then buying a brand new one with official firmware on it. this way you end up making money and getting a brand new console. win win

He wants to know how to download and install the official firmware, it's hardly any different than someone having an early official firmware and asking how they can upgrade to the latest version. The fact that the console has custom firmware on it shouldn't make any difference in all honesty, I imagine if he formats the drive then he'll be prompted to update to the latest firmware when he reboots the console.

+1.

What I was going to say.

Im not talking about mods though, Im not even talking about anything to do with mods, I am talking how to GET RID OF MODS to the console, not anything to do with putting cfw or downloading roms or games onto it.

its to get a hacked firmware back to the normal firmware so it is a legit machine, I see no mention on this in the rules, as I doubt the Mods even thought someone would want to do this.

HTH

On topic - I was pretty certain you just downloaded and installed the latest OFW. That's exactly what i did with my PSP and it worked fine. Don't kill me if i'm wrong though :p

I just downloaded latest official firmware and installed from USB (download it on your PC so Sony don't have any chance of blocking you even though you're moving to the light side!). Did this a few months back and had no issues.
