I would be using a 24 inch and a 17 inch monitor and a 6950

i do not mean to play games on the 17 inch, but rather just to use it for microsoft word etc.

How would I go about connecting the Gfx card to the 17 inch>

Simple as plugging it in, and going into windows Display options. (Right click > Screen resolution in Win7). And then you can choose resolutuons, and move the monitors around to suit your desktop.

i have my tv which normally has films running on and then the monitor for web browsing and the likes, is ideal, no need for 2 pcs anymore :)

duplicate or extended desktop whichever suits you.
If duplicate is chosen then the 17" monitor will be out of range with the 24" monitor or the 24" mon will have same resolution as the 17" mon. The graphics control panel should auto set the monitors up?, best to choose extended and set correct monitor values manual.

how so? i have a 42" tv and a 22" monitor, both on duplicate both on 1920x1080, although windows 7 lets you adjust each screens resolution independantly if required.
