As above. Long story short but a colleague of mine needs to take an Adobe Director presentation (published as a standalone .exe for those who dont know) to show some people. Problem is he has a PowerBook G4. All the virtual PC software seems to be for Macs with Intel cpus.. :(

Is there any way we can do this? :confused:

No. The G4 uses a PowerPC chip, there is no way to get an intel exe to run on it at all.

You'll need to find an x86 windows box or an intel mac running windows (bootcamp/virtualisation).

As mentiond virtualisation apps are a no go due to the fact you have a Power PC rather than x86 based machine, you would need an "x86 emulator" to run Windows. Even Wine would be a no go as that also requires x86 (I believe).

The one option I'm aware of would be to install Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac (I think 7 was the last version) which is essentially an x86 emulator and then run Windows XP in that. It will probably be quite slow though.

* Guest PC by Lismore Software Systems, Ltd.
* Bochs x86 PC emulator

I am sure there used to be VirtualPC from Microsoft as well. They killed it after the intel move from Apple I think. However you could likely source old copies from the 'bay. Indeed the top hit for "virtualpc mac" on the 'bay does what you want.

Thanks guys. They've now told me they will be borrowing a (Windows) laptop. lol. Cheers anyway!
