Hello,
Probably a stupid question but I'm at my wits end, being very out of touch with PC Hardware after 20 odd years!
I've got a Denon S217 Sound Bar. I am trying to run sound via HDMI, but its not working. Aux works fine.
Motherboard is a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X
I have an Radeon X7900XT through an AOC 24G1WG4 via HDMI
Using the motherboard HMDI output doesn't work, neither do either of the X7900XT HMDI cables
I'm on Windows 10.
HDMI is not coming up as an output source - only the monitor (24G1WG4) or "Speakers".
All driver up to date.
On sound playback devices, I have 3 "AMD High Definition Audio Device" entries all of which say "not plugged in" (whether the soundbar HDMI cable is plugged in to any of them on the GPU, or via the X570).
Short of buying a soundcard, is there any way to get HD Audio into the soundbar - I would have thought via the HDMI out on the motherboard but that's drawing a blank?
Any suggestions most welcome!
Cheers
