Hey all,

I want to reinstall my computer (I.e. Fully reset it by reinstalling Vista etc.).

However, I don't want to have to update WoW because it will take ages!

Do I just save the WoW folder or is there more to it?

Thanks,
Marky

Nope thats all there is to it, just copy the wow folder somewhere safe and then copy it back afterwards. It doesnt make any registry entries so you can just replicate it and plonk it back on

Take the chance to break your addiction :) Delete it and repent (and then reinstall it and curse yourself for having deleted it because you have to download 5 terrabytes of updates)

ive had some issues with artifacts when i copied the entire folder to another PC, when i reinstalled cleanly, the artifacts went away.

As mentioned earlier WoW doesn't write anything into the registry so doing a reinstall makes no difference. How ever as you also copy your config files from one machine to another most likely some of the graphic settings you had on the old machine wasn't liked by the different hardware on the new one.

Changing the graphic settings should have fixed that. And saved you the long install time and patching.

You can put the World of Warcraft folder on a USB stick and take it whereever you go. There might be slight issues though. It still 'thinks' it's on your old PC.
