Hey all, a late night post here... How would one go about securing an obsidian 650D case for use at a LAN party.

The case is so easy to get into (easy-off side panels! thumbscrews!) that I'm quite paranoid in the safety of the components inside.

I'm not quite sure myself as to whether they have this on the 650D, but almost all cases have like a pointy out bit on the back of the case where the side panel goes on where you could put a padlock on....

i dont think the 650d has a padlock for the back.

How about getting a bike chain but one of those with the rubber over the chain so that you don't damage the finish

Unfortunately the door doesn't slide into place, it is pivots from the bottom.

I have the case but the only thing I can think of is just putting a big chain around it, other than that I guess you might have to be eagle eyed.

1) duck tape the whole case together :p

2) the 600t has a lockable side panel, considering the 650d is the same internal chassis - does it have a lock too?

I might of found a way of locking and unlocking it with a swipe

sorry :P just came to mind and i thought it was funny

Cant you get like a hole bar that goes around your case? Im sure ive seen these somewhere before.
Had a quick internet search for you but found nothing

where are you going that you fear its not going to be safe, i took my RV03 to i45, no security (as with 99% of the other pc's there) not heard of anything go missing from anywhere, including mice keyboard etc.

although, i do like the tape idea, put it on backwards, sticky side out so it doesnt leave any marks to the finish.

Will be taking it to i46. First LAN, you see. Just my paranoia getting the best of me :]

Thanks for the suggestions, it would seem that the 650D is not the best in terms of security, lol.

Ive been using them for yrs with my pc cases, even though I dont take my pc anywhere, hehe

Unfortunately if there was a burglar on the loose I'm sure he would equip himself with tools similar to that haha. As well as the keys to every christmas cracker padlock ever made = 1 twiglet works as well

Took my 650D to i45 and will be taking it to i46 (hopefully) and had no issues. I will have a look at mine when I get home and see if I can find anything. I can understand your worries though!

Can you not atleast get a cloth and maybe lay the case on it's side with the monitor on top? Should atleast make it a fair but harder to get to.
