In my Brain...
As thread title, I've finally saved up the funds for a new bike I've had my eye on for a while :p and now at the point of selling my hornet to raise the last of the funds.

I've never sold a car or bike before so other then advertising it on certain sites I have no idea what else I should be doing, anyone have any pointers?

gumtree is good,i sold a kmx 125 on there a few months ago

just be honest with the bike and be a bit flexable on price but set a minimum limit you wont drop below on

ebay take an 8% cut of final selling price dont they?thats besides listing fees

pin up ads in local motorbike shops, thats usually free

Piston heads charged me £10 for my last listing!

eBay and your bike will sell, as mentioned be honest with description.

Sold my R6 within 5 days from eBay, buyer was over the moon with it!

I might give bay a go, buy it now or bid? Does the bay take cuts on classifieds?

I also need to replace the gasket on downpipe to slip on joint, is it worth waiting till I'm back from working away to fix it or list it now with a slight reduction specifying it needs doing?

I would go for Gumtree & Swapz. I would also sort any issues out Before you advertise as people want to just get on & ride away. Nobody wants to give fair money for a bike with issues that need sorting prior to using it.

Ebay classified is a one off payment, just like if you where going to put it on bike trader, piston heads, etc. personally It's the one i'd use.

If you start an auction then ebay and paypal will take a % of what the bike sells for up to a maximum amount which I cant remember off the top of my head.

Finally back home and going to start a further deep clean today and sort the exhaust out, Got someone coming to look at it Monday :)
