Hey guys, my 5930K died recently and I couldn't wait to see if and when I got a replacement from Intel so a bought another one, now I did get a replacement and was wondering a couple of things about selling it.

It is in a sealed retail box and was thinking, would it be more likely to sell keeping it sealed and mentioned that and with pictures, or would there be more advantage in taking it out and testing it so I can say it works?

Thanks.

If its brand new and sealed in box then sell it as that and stipulate that any warranty issues must be dealt with directly with Intel.

How many CPUs that come direct from the manufacturer are actually DOA ?

I know but some might prefer to be sure it works, plus I don't know what the warranty is like with a replacement if the serial number was logged before being shipped to me.

Also talking about serial numbers is there any reason to hide them on the pictures, I doubt it but just in case.

Hey thanks for the feedback guys, I think I will leave it sealed, and I've just checked on the Intel warranty site and it has up until July 21 2019 so all good there. Also when I went through the process of replacing the dead one at no point did they ask for proof of purchase so seems that's not really required.

As I've seen used 5930K's going for over £300 I think I should hopefully manage to get at least that out of it.

Thanks again.

Well It took me a while to get it on the bay but managed to sell it for £360 in the end, not amazing but not too bad, but I got more than expected on the EVGA SC reference GTX 980 than I expected at £250.

Thanks again guys.
