You don't:

Private messaging is disabled for all users except Admins, Dons & Underbosses. This is to prevent excess load on the server.

But you can try using Trust.

How does trust work?

edit: i thnk i've got the hang of it.

Mods: i cant change my email address as the one i used originaly was a uni email which i cant access anymore. is there some way i can change to a new email address?

Trust button at rhs of each post, login, and send message. You both need to have set up your email address in User CP.
